About
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation from the University of Cebu – METC in 2014, I completed an in-house training program with a maritime manning company, where I supported crewing operations, document management, and administrative processes. This experience strengthened my attention to detail, organizational skills, and appreciation for accurate documentation.
I later served as a Deck Cadet aboard M/V Maule, where I participated in navigational watchkeeping, cargo operations, safety procedures, and shipboard documentation. Working at sea taught me the importance of discipline, teamwork, following established procedures, and making sound decisions in demanding environments.
After completing my sea service, I spent several years pursuing additional maritime qualifications in the hope of continuing my seafaring career. Looking back, I recognize that this period became a lengthy career break as I struggled to complete the requirements needed for further deployment. It was a challenging experience that taught me valuable lessons about planning, adaptability, and personal growth.
In 2024, I decided to broaden my career opportunities by taking and passing the Career Service Professional Examination, earning second-level eligibility for Philippine government positions. Around the same time, I began transitioning into technology through structured learning, industry-recognized certification programs, and hands-on personal projects. Today, I continue developing practical skills in IT support, networking, Linux, cybersecurity, automation, and related technologies while building a portfolio that documents my progress and demonstrates what I learn through real-world implementation.
